After Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is returned to the screen with another commercial potboiler titled Tiku Weds Sheru. The film, which also stars Avneet Kaur and is produced by Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films, released its trailer on Wednesday. The film appears to be a comedy set in Mumbai and Bhopal.
Here, Sheru, played by Nawazuddin, works as a junior artist, but this is only his “decoy job,” as he also works “as a pimp for a local don.” He meets Tiku, played by Avneet Kaur, who “lives with her large conservative Muslim family” and marries Sheru to escape Bhopal. The couple married to make everything easier, but they soon fall in love. According to the YouTube description, they “get caught between the chaos of the underworld, drugs, and romance and face one tragedy after another without any time to deal with their sorrow.” Despite their significant age difference, Nawazuddin, 49, and Avneet, 21, are portrayed as a relationship in the film.
Kangana’s debut project as a producer; she is also credited as a ‘creative producer’ in the trailer.

According to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film “weaves elements of real life struggles that people go through with a unique love story.” “Tiku and Sheru are very different personalities who share a common dream,” he explained. What drew me to Sheru was that, although personifying the problems experienced by those seeking to succeed in the entertainment industry, he is personable, has his own eccentricities, and stands out as an endearing character.”
“Working alongside Nawazuddin sir has been an enriching experience as an actor, I learned a lot from him,” Avneet Kaur, who is making her debut with this film, said in a statement. Despite our strange pairing, the audience will see a very sweet relationship between Tiku and Sheru. They are brought together by a common dream, and the film offers an exploration of their love and aspirations that audiences will enjoy watching.”
Tiku Weds Sheru premieres on Prime Video on June 23.
